Hi, my name is Anna Cary but I go by AC. I am from Prosperity, South Carolina and I play basketball here at Converse. I am majoring in healthcare administration, and I have a dog named Maui. A little bit about me is that I like to have fun and laugh, and I enjoy cooking.
My first go to piece of music is anything by Zach Bryan, but particularly "Traveling Man". This is my favorite song by him and I like it because it makes me feel happy. I like to listen to his music when I'm in my car or just in my room relaxing or getting ready for something. This is my current go-to because he's my favorite artist and I can listen to his music when I'm in any mood, happy, sad, mad or whatever. I really like to sing this song when it's playing loudly. I particularly like the lyrics of the chorus that say "we're all running from the things inside". Traveling Man
One song that is personally meaningful to me is "All Too Well" by Taylor Swift. This song has special meaning behind it because one of my childhood best friends used to play this song on the piano and we would sing it all the time. Every time this song plays now I think about all the fun times we have had together and how she's like my sister. It especially brings me back to the times our families had during quarantine and how we were always together. Not only is this particular song meaningful to me, but older Taylor Swift songs also have a special meaning to me. Whenever her older songs are played it brings me back to elementary school to a time where we had no worries and would sing Taylor Swift songs that we didn't know the meaning to. I particularly like singing her older songs in the car with my friends because her music seems to have a special childhood meaning to a lot of us, which is a nice feeling that brings us all together. All Too Well
Lastly, a kind of music that I don't really resonate with is jazz music. I say this because I have never really listened to it enough to where I can appreciate it. I feel like I don't really like it because it's too slow and it keeps my mind quiet, which is something I don't like. I feel like this type of music is played in the background of things, so I wouldn't play jazz on my own. This particular example makes me feel like I'm in an elevator, which isn't bad, but I wouldn't want to play this while I'm in the car. Although, I do like how it makes me feel like I'm on vacation and in a nice hotel lobby. Another reason why I don't really like Jazz is because I feel like I can't really connect with it because it doesn't have lyrics. I like to sing along to songs and when I can't sing to a song I feel like I can't really connect with it. Jazz
I love Zach Bryan, too! My favorites are "Heavy Eyes" and "Crooked Teeth." I also totally get where you're coming from with jazz, but there's a lot of it out there that a lot of people probably wouldn't think of when thinking about jazz. "See-Line Woman" by Nina Simone, for example, is on repeat for me, and there are vocals! I definitely recommend it.
ReplyDeleteHonestly had no idea who Zach Bryan was until reading this. But I loved what you had to say about Taylor Swift's song. I relate to how whenever her older songs are played and getting brought back to those elementary school days where we had no worries.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Zach Bryan but I listened to "Traveling Man" and I really like the vibes. I love how it has a calming but happy feel. I also love "All Too Well' by Taylor Swift! I totally get what you mean about listening to her older songs and having that nostalgic feeling.
ReplyDeleteZach Bryan and Taylor Swift are my favorite artists. They both can be listened to in any mood, which I like. All too well, though, is definitely not the best of her songs; I hate to break it to you. I also feel the same way you think about Jazz; I can't connect with it because there are no words.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of Zack Bryan because I grew up listening to rap but its seems like I should tryout his music one day and the songs that makes me think of my childhood give me to many bittersweet moments
ReplyDeleteI love Zach Bryan as well. I haven’t heard the song “Traveling Man” from him but I am inspired to listen to it. My personal favorites from him are “Sun to Me” and “Oklahoma Smokeshow.” Also I recommend Tyler Childers to you if you haven’t already heard his music :)
